Functionality Overview

This topic provides an overview of the functionality offered by the Extra Functions 1 Add-On. The functions are executed via commands available in the Add-On menu.

Copy TU Properties to Clipboard

Copies the properties of the selected translation unit (TU) to the clipboard.

Statistics

·	Translation Status: All Languages Generates a word count and translation statistics for the active project and all languages. The results are printed to the Output tab view. See: Output tab view...
·	Active File (Function last updated: February 12, 2013) Generates a word count and translation statistics for the active project file and writes the results to the Output view. The active project file is usually the file to which the selected TU belongs. See: Output tab view...
·	Active Translation Project (Function last updated: February 12, 2013) Generates a translation statistics for all files in the active translation project and for the active target language. First: Generates a word count and translation statistics for each single file in the project and writes the results to the Output window. Finally: Generates a word count and translation statistics for the whole active project (over all files) and writes the results to the Output window. See: Output tab view...
·	All Translation Projects Generates a word count and translation statistics for all translation projects inside or outside of the current Workspace. The results are written to the Output view.

NOTES:

1.	At least one translation project must be open in order to generate statistics.
2.	If the active translation project is a project from the current workspace, statistics will be generated for all projects in the workspace.
3.	If the active translation project is not in the current workspace, statistics are generated for all projects not contained in the current workspace.

Mark All Items with Notes

Searches for all translation units that have a note assigned to them and marks them with a temporary (blue dot) marker. Enter the text to search for in the dialog box that appears after this command is selected.

Find Text in Notes

Searches all the notes in a translation project for a specified text. Enter the search text in the dialog box that opens after selecting this command.

Select TUs from File(s)

Selects all the translation units from one or more files contained in the active translation project. Specify the file(s) from which the TUs will be selected in the dialog box that opens after selecting this command.

Find Source and Target Text

Searches in the source texts for a specified text and in the target texts for a(nother) specified text, both of which are entered in the dialog box that opens after selecting this command.

Open String Length Window (Maximum String Length Check)

Checks the maximum string length of the selected text item while the text is being edited. If the translation text exceeds the specified length this will be indicated in the String Length Check window.

NOTE: The maximum string length of a target text is based on the length of the source text (for the current source language) and a specified amount of expansion (set in the Check Options dialog box).

Check String Length for All Items

Use this command to check the string lengths of all the text items in the translation project. String length errors (= translation text too long) will be listed in RC-WinTrans' Find Results tab view.

NOTE: The maximum string length of a target text is based on the length of the source text (for the current source language) and a specified amount of expansion (set in the Check Options dialog box).

Check for New Line Characters

Find and remove "new line" characters from the end of target texts.

(Add-On) Menu commands:

–	Statistics: Active Project
–	Statistics: All Projects

10	Mark All Items with a Previous Target Text (New: September 09, 2011) Marks all items (with a blue dot) with a previous target text in the history list. The previous target text of each item found is displayed in the RC-WinTrans' Found Results tab view.
