Concordance Search

Trados-related topic

RC-WinTrans has a command that performs a concordance search for a source text in the current Trados translation memory.  The concordance search is performed for the source text currently shown or selected in the Translation Edit bar.  If the Translator's Workbench finds the same or a similar text, it opens a "Concordance" dialog showing all matching translation units (see figure below).

The Concordance Search button in the Trados toolbar.

The concordance search is performed for the source text currently shown or selected in the Translation Edit bar.  You can search for the entire text shown in the Translation Edit bar's Source Text field, or for just a selected part (word(s)) of it.

Example:

The source text "Recent File" in the Translation Edit bar's Source Text field, not selected.  The concordance search operation will be performed for the entire source text ("Recent File").

Example:

The Source Text field in the Translation Edit bar where only one word ("File") of the source text ("Recent File") is selected.  The concord-ance search operation will be performed for the selected text ("File") only.
