Export to Excel Dialog Box

 

The Export to Excel dialog box is used to export translation units from an RC-WinTrans project to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (file extension: .xls).

Dialog Box Elements

Export Data Groupbox

Selected item(s)

Check this option to export all items (translation units) currently (multiple-)selected in RC-WinTrans' Text Table view.

Selected file

Check this option to export all the items (translation units) from the project file that is currently active in the translation project.  The name of the active file is shown in the field below the option element.

Project (all files)

Check this option to export translations for all the items in the active translation project.  Use the checkboxes to specify the state of the translation units (TUs) that will qualify for the export operation:

translated

Check this option to export translation units with the translation status "translated" or "final."

®

not translated

Check this option to export translation units that DO NOT have the translation status "translated" or "final."  These are, for example, TUs with the translation status "new," "needs-review," or "not translated."

changed source

Check this option to export translation units with the translation status "changed source." These are translation units that have already been translated but where the source text has changed since the translation was entered.

Note/Description

Select this option to export an item's note/description.  This information will appear in its own column in the spreadsheet.

Item ID / Name

Select this option to export an item's name and the main resources name. Each in a separate column.

Source file name

Select this option to export the name of the source resource file an item belongs to.

Resource type

Select this option to export an item's resource type.

Translation status

Select this option to export an item's translation status.

Options Groupbox

Append data to end of file

Check this option to append the exported data to the end of target file; if this option is not checked, existing data will be overwritten.

Remove ampersand (&) from source and target texts

Check this option to remove the ampersand character (&) when exporting the source and target texts.

Leave Excel file open after export Checkbox

Check this option to keep the designated Excel spreadsheet open after the export operation is complete.
